15 seconds of ffffame
There is non-stop excitement here at the Toronto office! CBC, Canada's broadcasting channel, caught wind of the 47 inch TV that MCW installed in the office for the World Cup and decided to come over to film us watching the Brazil vs. N. Korea game. Claudia, program manager for the GBC, is originally from Brazil, and got some face time (along with a strategically placed desktop photo of her and her dog, Lucy, donning matching Brazilian jerseys). Marcus and I also got filmed doing some 'work'- surely to show up in some future stock video clips. Keep your eyes peeled for the GBC Toronto team on CBC tomorrow!

How fun! I watch the news every morning and will keep an eye out for you.
ReplyDeleteSo do you have to scale any walls to get to work these days?
We were on last night at 6pm- end of the segment. No walls yet but definitely feels like a wierd prison- those fences are awfully strange...
ReplyDeleteLet me know if they upload the clip online anywhere!
ReplyDeleteAww, dogs in jerseys are adorable. We dressed up my coworker's dog for the first Brazil game.
ReplyDeleteI'm wildly curious about the other news coming out of Toronto. I hear the G20 security is ridiculous - I'm certainly getting a lot of mail from U of T warning me of closures and enhanced security. Where is your office in relation to the G20 fences. What sorts of security do you have to get past to get to work? Are you actually going to be able to get to work on the summit days ? Can you get pictures?
If there's 2 things I'm sorry to be missing this year it's the G20/G8 summits and Toronto World Pride. Oh, and berry and peach seasons.
Laszlo: Check out CBC news clips! We're in some 6pm news segment at the very end.
ReplyDeleteLee: Yea, it's like a wierd fenced in ghosttown down here. Our office is in the thick of it- being just a half block from the convention center. Just getting to work today was a nightmare, and I more or less ended up walking to work from Spadina station. Madness. Surprisingly, even though there are throngs of security teams everywhere, I haven't had much trouble getting in to the building. On Monday, I had to show ID to cross the street but when I told them I didn't have a work ID and instead gave them a letter from GBC, they let me in! The entire building is more or less shut down on Thursday and Friday, so we'll be working from home. I'll see about taking some photos. Stay tuned!!!
